I started guitar lessons when I was seven and not a day has passed without me playing something! Music has been an important part of my life, as a performer and teacher or simply as a means to switch off and relax. I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music together with the Licentiate Diploma in Guitar Teaching (LGSM) from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. I am also CRB checked.
I was the first guitarist on the Hampshire Specialist Music Course and was fortunate to study with distinguished guitar professors, among them Gerald Lee and Antonio Albanes at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and with the highly respected guitarist and teacher, the late Chris Kilvington here in Cambridge.
These people and experiences shaped both my playing and my approach to teaching.
I believe that excellent tuition should combine technical excellence with encouragement, patience and above everything else, enjoyment no matter what level or goals you have!
